3 WASTE CLASSIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT <br />3.1. `;BASTE TYRESWaste Types <br />The Foothill Sanitary Landfill is permitted as a Class III landfill. The Solid Waste Facility Permit <br />allows the landfill to accept: <br />•-aAgricultural, residential, commercial and industrial wastes <br />• Construction and demolition debris <br />• Small Pickup loads of soil or gravel- <br />• Yyard waste; <br />• t+FesS small dead animals <br />• Wood waste <br />• Manure <br />• Stumps and logs -,-and <br />• wWhite goods such as refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units. <br />• Tires <br />A refuse characterization study has not been performed at the site, however, it is <br />attisioatedassumed that the refuse received at the site is similar to previous studies (Table 1) <br />Septic tank wastes, toxic materials, large dead animals, five gallon or larger drums, infectious <br />wastes, liquid wastes including automotive fluids, cannery wastes, hazardous wastes, large <br />loads of soil or gravel, trailers, and burned wastes are not accepted. <br />Electronic wastes are accepted and managed in accordance with current state law.
