5.3. General Design Parameters
5.3.1 Previous Design
Module "I" is approximately 80 -acres and is unlined, located in the center portion of
the existing Foothill Landfill property. Wastes were placed from 1965 through 2003.
5.3.2 Future Design
5.3.2.1 General
The landfill units will be designed per CCR Title 27 standards and Subtitle D
under the direction of a registered civil engineer. Typical designs are
anticipated to include:
5.3.2.2 Physical Setting
® Initial sizing, placement, and orientation of the landfill was done within the
constraints offered by the physical settings. Drainage design was influenced
by the surrounding surface watershed and drainage flow -paths. Module depth
below the ground surface was influenced by the depth to groundwater and soil
conditions.
C
5.3.2.3 Liners on Native Soil
Future modules will be constructed with a soil operations layer, geotexile,
drainage layer, LCRS systems, geomembrane, GCL, and prepared subgrade.
Liners will be installed to cover all natural geologic materials where refuse will
be placed.
Foothill Sanitary Landfill Page 18 of 57 Public Works/Solid Waste
Joint Technical Document County of San Joaquin — Revised 7/30/10
