5.3. General Design Parameters <br />5.3.1 Previous Design <br />Module "I" is approximately 80 -acres and is unlined, located in the center portion of <br />the existing Foothill Landfill property. Wastes were placed from 1965 through 2003. <br />5.3.2 Future Design <br />5.3.2.1 General <br />The landfill units will be designed per CCR Title 27 standards and Subtitle D <br />under the direction of a registered civil engineer. Typical designs are <br />anticipated to include: <br />5.3.2.2 Physical Setting <br />® Initial sizing, placement, and orientation of the landfill was done within the <br />constraints offered by the physical settings. Drainage design was influenced <br />by the surrounding surface watershed and drainage flow -paths. Module depth <br />below the ground surface was influenced by the depth to groundwater and soil <br />conditions. <br />C <br />5.3.2.3 Liners on Native Soil <br />Future modules will be constructed with a soil operations layer, geotexile, <br />drainage layer, LCRS systems, geomembrane, GCL, and prepared subgrade. <br />Liners will be installed to cover all natural geologic materials where refuse will <br />be placed. <br />Foothill Sanitary Landfill Page 18 of 57 Public Works/Solid Waste <br />Joint Technical Document County of San Joaquin — Revised 7/30/10 <br />
