Sathees <br />Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. <br />Weather: Clear Wind: 0-10 mph. <br />Temperature: Approx. range 50-70 F Other: <br />The contractor worked from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. <br />Excavation: Up to (1) CAT D6 and (1) CAT D8 dozers with ripper attachments assisted up to (3) CAT 627 scrapers load <br />material from the excavation along north side of the cell. In the morning, the soil was hauled and stockpiled at North West <br />Stockpile for use as daily cover for current landfill operations. In the afternoon, the soil (fine-grained brown silty sand) was <br />hauled to the South Stockpile for use as foundation layer material. <br />North West Stockpile: 6:30 am to 11 am. (1) CAT 14H motorgrader was observed spreading and grading the soil in the <br />Stockpile fill area and maintaining haul roads. (1) CAT 621 water pull was used to maintain fill areas, haul roads, and <br />excavation areas. <br />South Stockpile (Fdn. Stk.): 11 am to 3:30 pm. The fine-grained brown silty sand material was hauled from the excavation <br />to the South Stockpile in order to use as foundation layer material. (1) CAT 825 compactor was used to break the soil clods to <br />aid the future processing of material. One soil sample was obtained and a maximum density test was conducted as the <br />Access Road Embankment Fill: 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Contractor planned to start earthfill for Access Road embankment fill in <br />the western part of the work area. (1) CAT 825 compactor was moved from South Stockpile and used to scarify and <br />recompact the existing subgrade in order to prepare for placing earthfill. The surface was moisture conditioned, compacted, <br />and ready to receive earthfill. The Contractor questioned the suitability of the compacted sand. AES informed them that the <br />prepared surface was adequate and ready to receive fill. <br />Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D8T dozer, (1) CAT D6T dozer, (1) CAT 621 water pull, (4) 627 scrapers, (1) 14H motorgrader, <br />(1) CAT 825 compactor <br />Problems/Resolutions. <br />Visitors: <br />Reviewed By: M.
