C r n DAILY FIELD REPORT Page 1 of 1 Project Name: Foothill Sanitary Landfill - Area 2A Report Number: 056 Project Number: 14-101-01 Date: Tuesday 07/28/15 Owner: Dept. of Public Works, San Joaquin County CQA Monitors: Jude A Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and Weather: Clear Wind: 0-10 mph. Temperature: ARprox. range 70- 95 F Other: The contractor worked from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm. Excavation: No activity observed. Slope Subgrade Preparation: Up to (4) laborers used hand tools to prepare the slope subgrade for geosynthetic materials. The slope was previously smooth drum rolled and the handwork today was to address deficient areas. Access Road: No activity. Foundation Layer: (1) water -truck and (1) CAT 54B smooth drum roller maintained the finish surface of foundation layer soil on the floor in advance of geosynthetics placement. Sump Riser Construction: Welding was performed for the 24" primary riser pipe. (1) CAT 320 excavator assisted 2 laborers in using a large Vibratory plate to compact the Granular backfill in the Secondary riser system. One density test indicated that the contractor had achieved the 90% compaction required. North West Stockpile: No activity was observed. South Stockpile 2 (Operations): See below. South Stockpile 3: No activity was observed. Geosynthetic Liner: Geosynthetics detailing and deployment continued on the floor. QA activities included monitoring of placement, trial welds, seaming and collection of destructive seam samples. A cumulative quantity of approximately 532,000 SF of GCL and geomembrane has been deployed. At this time all 34 Destructive Seam samples tested to date are passing the contract requirements. Operations Layer Processing. The contractor had the County's Landfill Contractor use (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper to pick up (1) load of material from the existing Operations Layer Soil stockpile and deposit the material in the equipment yard. Visually, the material still contains much +1" material. A field sieve was ran on a random composite sample on the 1" screen, which yielded approximately 20% larger 1". Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D8T dozer, (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (1) CAT D6R dozer (with slope board) (1) CAT 621G water pull, (2) CAT 627 scrapers, (1) 14H motorgrader, (1) water truck, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT CS 54B smooth drum roller (vibratory type), (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) CAT 430D backhoe.
