Nogales Contractor: R I Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Huand Weather: Clear - Hot Wind: 0-10 mph. Temperature: A22rox. range 57- 95 F Other: The contractor worked from 5:00 am to 4:30 pm. Excavation: No activity observed. Access Road: No activity observed. Operations Layer Processing: Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile today at 6:00 am. (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader was used to perform screening operations. The Hitachi 300 was used to load soil from the middle of Stockpile 2 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a belt stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) 950 M Loader was used relocate +1" from under belt into separate stockpile. (1) Sample collected from today's stacker belt stockpile. Full gradation in field lab was performed. Lab results indicated 100 % Passing 1" Screen. Screening operation ended at 4:30 pm. Operations Layer Placement: Hyundai 300 loading (2) Cat 745 Dump Trucks with Screened Operations Layer for placement on cell floor. (1) D6 LGP Dozer was used to spread Operations layer 2 ft thick over deployed 8 oz geotextile along southern edge of cell working north and west. Random samples of Operations layer were hand sieved in field with 1" screen during placement. Observed 100% passing 1" screen. Gravel Drainage Material Placement: 15-17 tandem end -dumps were used to import Gravel Drainage Material (GDM) from Cemex Rock Plant until 4:30 pm. Observed 3 ft of GDM between end dumps and underlying geosynthetics. (1) Cat D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS spreading GDM along northeast corner of cell floor this morning beginning at 5:00 am. (1) Laborer controlled wrinkles. GDM placement discontinued at approximately 11:30 due to moderate to heavy wrinkles observed in HDPE Liner. GDM import continued, with material being stockpiled on previously deployed GDM. AES QA personnel monitored the placement and verified the depths of the placed LCRS gravel by using a dulled probe. GDM sample was collected at 11:00. Field gradation indicates GDM meeting required specifications. GDM Gravel Summary 8/19/15 -1032 tons Total Tonnage - 7,946 tons Geotextile: (3) Great Basin employees on site this morning to deploy 8 oz/sy over graded GDM. Deployment continued to the western and northern portion of cell floor. 8 oz/sy was also deployed in portions of trench at toe of easternmost slope. Observed seams sewn using hand sewing machine. Leachate Collection Pipe: Contractor continued placement of the Middle Leachate Collection Pipe. Approximately 110 if of 6" perforated HDPE pipe was placed today. (1) Cat 950 M Loader operating over completed operations layer soil was used to place coarse gravel over 6" Perforated HDPE Pipe. Coarse gravel and 6" HDPE pipe were wrapped in 8 oz/sy Geotextile. Gravel was measured to be a minimum of 1 ft in depth and a minimum of 4 ft in width. Geotextile was measured to have a 2 ft minimum overlap. 24" HDPE Riser Pipe: No Activity observed today. Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper.
