Nogales Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and Weather: Clear - Hot Wind: 0-10 mph. Temperature: Approx. range 57- 99 F Other: The contractor worked from 5:00 am to 4:30 pm. Excavation: No activity observed. Access Road: No activity observed. Operations Layer Processing: Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile today at 6:00 am. (1) Hyundai 480 excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader used to perform screening operations. The Hyundai 480 used to load soil from the east end of Stockpile 2 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a belt stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) 950 M Loader used relocate +1" from under belt into separate stockpile. Hitachi 300 was parked on top of screened stockpile to be used part time on an as needed bases to remove material from under stacker belt. (1) Sample collected from today's stacker belt stockpile. Full gradation was performed in field lab. Lab results indicated 100 % Passing 1" Screen. Screening operation ended at 4:00 pm. Operations Layer Placement: 6:00 am. Contractor hand excavated through Operations layer to expose 8 oz/sy geotextile. F3 Survey crew was on site to perform point over point survey. No placement today. Gravel Drainage Material Placement: 10-11 tandem end -dumps were used to import Gravel Drainage Material (GDM) from Cemex Rock Plant until 4:30 pm. Observed 3 ft of GDM between end dumps and underlying geosynthetics. (1) Cat D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS spread GDM along northeast corner of cell floor this morning beginning at 5:00 am. (1) Laborer used to control wrinkles. GDM placement discontinued at approximately 12:00 due to moderate to heavy wrinkles observed in HDPE Liner. GDM import continued, with material being stockpiled on previously deployed GDM. AES QA personnel monitored the placement and verified the depths of the placed LCRS gravel by using a dulled probe. GDM Gravel Delivery Summary (6,914 tons to date) 8/6/15 - 1185 tons 8/7/15 - 430 tons 8/11/15 -1407 tons 8/12/15 -1168 tons 8/14/15 - 964 tons 8/17/15 - 805 tons 8/18/15 - 955 tons Leachate Collection Pipe: Contractor continued placement of Southern and Middle Leachate Collection Pipes. Approximately 130 if of 6" perforated HDPE pipe was placed today. (1) Cat 950 M Loader operating over completed operations layer soil used to place coarse gravel over 6" Perforated HDPE Pipe. Coarse gravel and 6" HDPE pipe was wrapped in 8 oz/sy Geotextile. Gravel was measured to be a minimum of 1 ft in depth and a minimum of 4 ft in width. Geotextile was measured to have a 2 ft minimum overlap. 24" HDPE Riser Pipe: No Activity observed today. Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper.
