Nogales Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and Weather: Clear - Hot Wind: 0-10 mph. Temperature: Approx. range 60- 89 F Other: The contractor worked from 5:00 am to 4:30 pm. Excavation: No activity observed. Access Road: No activity observed. Operations Layer Processing: Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile today at 6:00 am. (1) Hyundai 480 excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader used to perform screening operations. The Hyundai 480 used to load soil from the middle of Stockpile 2 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a belt stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) 950 M Loader was used relocate +1" from under belt into a separate stockpile. (1) Sample collected from the stacker belt stockpile. Full gradation was performed in field lab. Lab results indicated 100 % Passing 1" Screen. Screening operation ended at 4:30 pm. Operations Layer Placement: No activity observed Gravel Drainage Material Placement: 19-20 various types of end -dumps were used to import Gravel Drainage Material (GDM) from Cemex Rock Plant until 4:00 pm. Observed 3 ft of GDM between end dumps and underlying geosynthetics. (1) Cat D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS spread GDM in the northeast corner of cell floor this morning beginning at 5:00 am. (1) Laborer controlled wrinkles. GDM placement discontinued at approximately 2:30 pm due to moderate to heavy wrinkles observed in HDPE Liner. GDM import continued, with material being stockpiled onto previously deployed GDM using Cat D4 and Cat D6 LGP Dozers. AES QA personnel monitored the placement and verified the depths of the placed LCRS gravel by using a dulled probe. (1) GDM sample was collected at 10:30 am. Field gradation indicated GDM met the specifications. GDM Gravel Summary 8/21/15 - 981 tons Total Tonnage - 9984 tons Geotextile: No activity observed today Leachate Collection Pipe: Contractor continued placement of the Middle Leachate Collection Pipe. Approximately 125 If of 6" perforated HDPE pipe was placed today. (1) Cat 950 M Loader operating over completed operations layer soil was used to place coarse gravel over 6" Perforated HDPE Pipe. Coarse gravel and 6" HDPE pipe were wrapped in 8 oz/sy Geotextile. Gravel was measured to be a minimum of 1 ft in depth and a minimum of 4 ft in width. Geotextile was measured to have a 2 ft minimum overlap. 24" HDPE Riser Pipe: No activity observed today. Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper.
