C DAILY FIELD REPORT Paee 1 of I Project Name: Foothill Sanitary Landfill - Area 2A Report Number: 086 Project Number: 14-101-01 Date: Wednesday 9/9/15 Owner: Dept. of Public Works, San Joaquin County CQA Monitors: R. Nogales Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and Weather: Clear - Hot Wind: 0-15 mph. Tem erature: ApErox. range 62- 106 F Other: The contractor worked from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Operations Layer Processing: Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile today at 7:00 am. (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader used to perform screening operations. From 10:00 to approximately 12:00, the screening plant was relocated to Stockpile #3 in the southeast corner of project. (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader used to perform screening operations. The Hyundai 480L used to load soil from Stockpile 3 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a belt stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) 950 M Loader was used relocate +1" from under belt into separate stockpile. (1) Sample collected from today's stacker belt at Stockpile #2. Full gradation was performed in the field lab. Lab results indicated 100 % Passing 1" Screen. Screening operation ended at 6:00 pm. Operations Layer Placement: (1) Hyundai 480LC loaded (2) Cat 745 Dump Trucks with Screened Operations Layer for placement on cell floor. (1) D6 LGP and (1) D4 Dozer were used to spread Operations layer 2 ft thick over deployed 8 oz/sy geotextile along western and northern portions of cell. Random samples of Operations layer were hand sieved in field with 1" screen during placement. Placement discontinued at 4:30 pm Gravel Drainage Material Placement: No Import Today. At 6:00 am, (1) Cat 950 M Loader was used to load GDM from stockpile in the east end of cell into (1) Cat 745 Dump Truck. GDM was hauled to west end of site to complete GDM placement. (1) CAT D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS spread GDM along westernmost edge of cell. (1) Laborer controlled wrinkles. At 5:00 pm, GDM was placed over previously placed Coarse gravel and 8 oz/sy in the sump area. (1) Hyundai 480LC was used to place GDM in sump area (5) Laborers hand graded GDM to receive 8 oz/sy geotextile. AES QA personnel monitored the placement and verified the depths of the placed LCRS gravel by using a dulled probe. Geotextile: RJ Gordon deployed balance of available 8 oz/sy geotextile along Western portion of cell. Additional Geotextile will be required to complete GDM and Coarse gravel coverage. Per contractor, an additional 10 rolls will be required. Contractor delivered 5 new rolls from another site. MCQ data for these rolls was submitted to AES for review. This material was deployed today without approval along West end of site. Great Basin sewed 8 oz/sy geotextile over GDM along Western portion of the cell floor. (2-3) Laborers were used to hand roll Geotextile into place. (1) Laborer Observed using hand sewing machine to sew seams. Geocomposite: Geotextile seams were sewn by Great Basin using hand sewing machine along sides of previously deployed Geocomposite on the Northern Slope. Observed 3 ft overlap and nylon ties placed at 6 -inch intervals along the tie in with Area 1 to the North. An Boz Geotextile Cap was placed over nylon ties and heat bonded to existing Geocomposite. Leachate Collection Pipe: Contractor installed portions of Northern Leachate Collection Pipe. Approximately 50 If of 6" perforated HDPE pipe was placed today. (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe and (1) Cat 950 M Loader operating over completed operations layer soil were used to place coarse gravel over 6" Perforated HDPE Pipe. Coarse gravel and 6" HDPE pipe was wrapped in 8 oz/sy Geotextile. Gravel was measured to be a minimum 1 ft deep and a minimum 4 ft wide. Geotextile was measured to have a 2 ft minimum overlap. Force Main: (1) JD 410 backhoe and (2) Laborers were used to excavate portions of 2 ft wide trench for Force main and Electrical conduit. Leak Detection: Leak Location Services Inc. on site today to perform leak location survey. Survey not com leted today. Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper. (1) Power Screen, (1) Belt Stacker, (1) Hyundai 48OLC excavator, (1) CAT D6T dozer, (2) Cat 745 Dump Truck, (1) Cat 950 M Loader (1) CAT D4 Dozer Problems/Resolutions.
