Nogales <br />Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and <br />Weather: Clear - Hot Wind: 0-15 mph. <br />Tem erature: ApErox. range 62- 106 F Other: <br />The contractor worked from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. <br />Operations Layer Processing: Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile today at 7:00 am. (1) Hitachi 300 <br />excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader used to perform screening operations. <br />From 10:00 to approximately 12:00, the screening plant was relocated to Stockpile #3 in the southeast corner of project. (1) <br />Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader used to perform screening operations. The Hyundai 480L used to <br />load soil from Stockpile 3 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a belt <br />stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) 950 M Loader was used relocate +1" from under belt <br />into separate stockpile. (1) Sample collected from today's stacker belt at Stockpile #2. Full gradation was performed in the <br />field lab. Lab results indicated 100 % Passing 1" Screen. Screening operation ended at 6:00 pm. <br />Operations Layer Placement: (1) Hyundai 480LC loaded (2) Cat 745 Dump Trucks with Screened Operations Layer for <br />placement on cell floor. (1) D6 LGP and (1) D4 Dozer were used to spread Operations layer 2 ft thick over deployed 8 oz/sy <br />geotextile along western and northern portions of cell. Random samples of Operations layer were hand sieved in field with 1" <br />screen during placement. Placement discontinued at 4:30 pm <br />Gravel Drainage Material Placement: No Import Today. At 6:00 am, (1) Cat 950 M Loader was used to load GDM from <br />stockpile in the east end of cell into (1) Cat 745 Dump Truck. GDM was hauled to west end of site to complete GDM placement. <br />(1) CAT D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS spread GDM along westernmost edge of cell. (1) Laborer controlled wrinkles. <br />At 5:00 pm, GDM was placed over previously placed Coarse gravel and 8 oz/sy in the sump area. (1) Hyundai 480LC was used <br />to place GDM in sump area (5) Laborers hand graded GDM to receive 8 oz/sy geotextile. AES QA personnel monitored the <br />placement and verified the depths of the placed LCRS gravel by using a dulled probe. <br />Geotextile: RJ Gordon deployed balance of available 8 oz/sy geotextile along Western portion of cell. Additional Geotextile <br />will be required to complete GDM and Coarse gravel coverage. Per contractor, an additional 10 rolls will be required. <br />Contractor delivered 5 new rolls from another site. MCQ data for these rolls was submitted to AES for review. This material <br />was deployed today without approval along West end of site. Great Basin sewed 8 oz/sy geotextile over GDM along Western <br />portion of the cell floor. (2-3) Laborers were used to hand roll Geotextile into place. (1) Laborer Observed using hand sewing <br />machine to sew seams. <br />Geocomposite: Geotextile seams were sewn by Great Basin using hand sewing machine along sides of previously deployed <br />Geocomposite on the Northern Slope. Observed 3 ft overlap and nylon ties placed at 6 -inch intervals along the tie in with Area <br />1 to the North. An Boz Geotextile Cap was placed over nylon ties and heat bonded to existing Geocomposite. <br />Leachate Collection Pipe: Contractor installed portions of Northern Leachate Collection Pipe. Approximately 50 If of 6" <br />perforated HDPE pipe was placed today. (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe and (1) Cat 950 M Loader operating over completed <br />operations layer soil were used to place coarse gravel over 6" Perforated HDPE Pipe. Coarse gravel and 6" HDPE pipe was <br />wrapped in 8 oz/sy Geotextile. Gravel was measured to be a minimum 1 ft deep and a minimum 4 ft wide. Geotextile was <br />measured to have a 2 ft minimum overlap. <br />Force Main: (1) JD 410 backhoe and (2) Laborers were used to excavate portions of 2 ft wide trench for Force main and <br />Electrical conduit. <br />Leak Detection: Leak Location Services Inc. on site today to perform leak location survey. Survey not com leted today. <br />Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) John <br />Deere 410 Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper. (1) Power Screen, (1) Belt Stacker, (1) Hyundai 48OLC excavator, (1) <br />CAT D6T dozer, (2) Cat 745 Dump Truck, (1) Cat 950 M Loader (1) CAT D4 Dozer <br />Problems/Resolutions.
