TOTAL LOADS
Collectively, during 1988, the refuse collectors and the general
public delivered 78, 602 loads to the landfill. While the number
of loads delivered by the refuse collectors is relatively small,
5,230 (7%) , they delivered 67% of the total waste by weight. The
remaining loads, 73,372 (93%) , were delivered by the general public
and represent the remaining 33% of the total waste received.
GENERAL PUBLIC - NUMBER AND VOLUME OF MINIMUM FEE LOADS
The general public, as noted above, delivered 73, 372 loads of
refuse to the landfill. Of the 73,372 loads, 65, 112 (89%) were
minimum fee loads, and the remainder, 8,260 (11%) , were loads that
were either charged by the cubic yard or per ton.
The volume of the minimum fee loads totaled 94,484 cubic yards.
Converted to tons using the .2563 conversion factor, the 94,484
cubic yards are equal to about 24 , 217 tons.
GENERAL PUBLIC-NUMBER AND VOLUME/WEIGHT OF NON-MINIMUM FEE LOADS
General Public non-minimum fee loads totaled 8,260 loads. Of the
8,260 loads, 6,397 were weighed and the balance, 1,863 were
measured. The weighed loads totaled 14,373 tons, and the measured
loads totaled 11,273 cubic yards. Converted to tons using the
.2563 conversion factor, the 11,273 cubic yards equal about 2,890
tons. Therefore, the total tonnage which may be attributed to
general public non-minimum fee loads is 17,263 tons.
NUMBER AND WEIGHT OF LOADS BY REFUSE COLLECTION COMPANIES
A total of 51230 loads of refuse were delivered to the landfill in
1988 by Refuse Collection Companies.
