Landfill <br />Fire Protection Plan <br />Page # 2 <br />Fire extinguishers <br />Portable pumps <br />Water trucks <br />Earth moving equipment <br />Scrapers <br />Loaders <br />Bulldozers <br />Graders <br />The following equipment and systems have been installed at Forward, Inc. Landfill to prevent and <br />control accidental ignition of combustible materials. <br />* Fire extinguishers receive a daily visual check to see if charged by general laborer, <br />David Price. If fire extinguishers are discharged or used, they are sent to the <br />office trailer for maintenance. The fire equipment person comes to the Landfill <br />and recharges fire extinguishers. <br />* Annual fire inspection by Manteca -Lathrop Fire Department. <br />* A dirt supply, is kept near working face to smother a potential fire. If a soil pile <br />catches fire, try to contain the fire by placing dirt on the fire. If the fire is out of <br />control, let it burn. The fire break should contain the fire. <br />* Two water trucks are available as back-up. <br />* Emergency water hookup for fire truck is located at SE corner of Forward, Inc. <br />Landfill, northside of Little John Creek. Covered by red box with wording <br />"FIRE". Has cutoff locks for quick access. Water supply is from the main pump <br />located at Landfill entrance. Four inch PVC pipe runs from main pump to 4 1/2 " <br />fire thread hookup. Main pump is a free flow system, not a pressure system. <br />Turn selector knob on the main pump to hand position and push start button on to <br />activate pump. <br />-2- <br />
