GeoSyntec Consultants I*
• Perform soil compliance tests to determine if proposed soils are acceptable for
use within the final cover.
• Select all soil sampling and testing locations.
• Determine the relative compaction and moisture content of the clay liner
material and compare with the established relationship between moisture
content, dry density, and hydraulic conductivity.
• Determine the relative compaction and moisture content of the vegetative layer
material.
• Request that the Contractor moisture condition and re -compact areas where the
field density test results indicate that specified design requirements are not met,
and then retest the soil for relative compaction and moisture content.
• Coordinate with soils laboratory to have appropriate soil tests performed. All
testing shall be performed in accordance with the appropriate testing methods
shown in Table 7.
• Observe placement of vegetative layer over geocomposite drainage layer.
Record any damage to the underlying synthetics resulting from the operation of
equipment.
• Make periodic inspections of drainage pipe installation procedures.
• Verify that Contractor is placing and compacting both the trench and pipe zone
backfill as outlined in Tables 5 and 6.
6.1.1 Material Acceptance
The material acceptance tests for the imported NARCO clay material (if needed for
clay admixture) are listed in Table 1.
6.1.2 Compliance Tests
The minimum required compliance tests for the clay liner, vegetative layer,
foundation layer, pipe zone backfill, and trench backfill are listed in Tables 2 through 6.
J:\ALLIED\FORWARD\CI.OSURE\REPORT\CQA REPORT 6-2 99.11.30
