MEETING NOTES
Page 6
May 7, 1999
• Scott mentioned that it may be difficult to achieve the swell index required on
the GCL and was wondering if the test requirement could be eliminated.
Sangeeta said that since the CQA Plan has already been submitted to the
regulators, that it may be better to perform the test and then provide
justification for why the test didn't meet the specification. Scott and Sangeeta
agreed to discuss this issue further at a later point.
• Sangeeta mentioned that the geosynthetics installation specifications were
essentially the same as WMU D-98 except for the allowance of horizontal
seams for the GCL. The intent would still be to limit the horizontal seams to
necessary locations and to keep them near the toe of the slope.
• The geotextile on the geocomposite drainage net can be wedge welded as long
as it provides a similar strength to sewing.
SAFETY
• Guinn and Vector are responsible for their own health and safety and should
prepare a health and safety plan for this project. Forward has not revised their
Emergency Response Plan in the last year and Guinn has a copy of the most
recent version.
• Guinn should complete Allied's Health and Safety declaration as required in the
Agreement.
• Guinn will perform weekly safety meetings with their crew.
