MEETING NOTES
Page 5
May 7, 1999
SCREDULE/TIME
• Guinn is planning to start mobilizing and surveying around May 10.
• Guinn will plan on completing the work around August 2.
• The substantial completion and date for liquidated damage dates listed in the
Agreement are July 5 and August 2, respectively. Kevin mentioned that Allied's
intent on the liquidated damages was to make sure that Guinn didn't start
pulling crews off Forward if Guinn had another job that came up. Kevin said
that as long as Guinn was making a good faith effort, the liquidated damages
would not be enforced. The liquidated damages on the surveying were added
due to the difficulty in obtaining survey results during WMU D-98 construction.
The turnaround time is 4 days. As long as DeWalt is making a good faith
effort, liquidated damages will not be assessed.
• Work hours are 5 days a week from 7:00 am to 5:00 PM, with weekend work,
as necessary.
• Weekly meetings are scheduled for Tuesdays at 10:00 am.
• Guinn will provide an initial construction schedule.
• Vector will start mobilizing for CQA the week of May 10.
COORDINATION ISSUES
• Forward will place the subgrade fill and will take responsibility for unloading
and storing the geosynthetics until GSE arrives onsite.
• GSE and Guinn should submit three copies of all required submittals to Scott.
SURVEYING AND LAYOUT
• Sangeeta mentioned that there was some latitude on the survey tolerances,
especially on the subgrade fill that Butch was placing. In general, things that
are listed as minimums on the drawing, especially the minimum thickness of the
base liner components and the minimum grades on the cell base must be
achieved. Items listed on the drawings as approximate are not as critical.
• A grid should be established for thickness measurements with shots on each
subsequent layer taken at the same Northing and Easting.
• DeWalt requested a listing of control points and an electronic version of the
CARD drawings. Sangeeta said she would provide these items.
CQA
• Three interface shear strength test configurations are required. Vector should
use the same testing criteria as for WMU D-98 and will contact Sangeeta with
any questions.
