Guinn Construction started the lone Clay import haul today. Guinn has the 966
loader spreading the clay as the trucks are dumping it on the clay stockpile area. Guinn imported
approximately 1,800 tons of lone clay. Guinn is continuing to cut the cell floor down to grade. Guinn utilized
2-633/1-623 paddle wheels to excavate and haul the subgrade material to the stockpile area northwest of cell
WMU D-99. Guinn is grading and moisture conditioning the material as it is being stockpiled. Guinn's grade
checker is continuously checking grade on the cell floor of WMU D-99. Guinn started a second stockpile for
the roadway waste material unsuitable for the clay mixture just north of the clean material stockpile.
Allied Waste is working on the subgrade preparation along the liner edge on the eastern slope tie in of cell
WMU D-98 and 99. Allied is utilizing 2 rock trucks to haul subgrade material from the WMU B cell. Allied
has the water truck moisture conditioning the subgrade material prior to the placement of subsequent lifts.
The subgrade material is being spread by the D4 and track walked with the D8 for compaction.
Vector Engineering, Inc. Observed placement and compaction of the subgrade material. CQA performed
density tests on the subgrade material with all tests passing the required specifications. Pulled 2 samples of
imported clay for testing of moisture,pi and sieve analysis. CQA dried back a clay moisture sample in the
microwave with a moisture content of 22.7%. CQA pulled clay 3 samples for oven moisture checks. CQA
informed Guinn that some asphalt material from the old access roadway had made its way into the stockpile
for the clay mix material and needed to be removed. Guinn said they would start another stockpile and keep
a closer eye on the material.
File Name: Forward Landfill Prepared by: Frank Dell-Era Reviewed by:
