Guinn still needs to grade and compact the top
lift on the north and south ends of the cell floor utilizing the laser to achieve the 2%flow towards the LCRS
channel. Prior to placement of clay Guinn utilized the grader to scarify and the water truck to moisture
conditioned the clay material. Guinn utilized 2-633/1-623 paddle wheel scrapers to haul the clay material
from the stockpile to the cell. Guinn compacted the material in 6-8"loose lifts with the 815F Sheepfoot
compactor. Guinn ran out of clay material today and will grade the north side of the cell floor and move
excess material to the south side of the floor. Guinn should have enough clay material to complete the cell
floor but not the sump area. Guinn brought in some unsuitable material from the clay stockpile CQA
informed Guinn to remove any unsuitable material. In the afternoon Guinn built a temporary access ramp to
the south of Ashpit for construction of the southern road.
Allied utilized the water truck to maintain moisture in the subgrade material.
Vector Engineering,Inc. CQA observed placement and tested the clay material placed. CQA pulled perm
samples and sieves from the clay material. CQA requested Guinn to check the depth of the clay stockpile
while excavating the bottom lift. Guinn ran out of clay mix material for the sump area and would like to use
GCL instead of clay. Sangita Lewis was contacted by Guinn construction and GCL in the sump would be o.k.
(Per Duane Meadows)
File Name: Forward Landfill Prepared by: Frank Dell-Era Reviewed by:
