1. If an alarm is sounded and you are not designated and <br />trained to fight fires, leave the area.. <br />2. If you notice or located the fire or explosion, notify the <br />Foreman. If the Foreman is not in the area, notify the Fire <br />Department (dial 911), and SM. <br />3. Do not hang up the telephone until the necessary information <br />regarding the location and type of fire (i.e., material <br />involved if known) has been provided to the Fire Department. <br />4. Do not panic. The best way not to panic is to know the way <br />out ... then get out! <br />5. Be counted. Do not leave the area until you have been <br />counted so that the subsequent search and rescue operation <br />can constructively focus on persons who are actually <br />missing. <br />DO "'not enter .the build ngs ,-unt I —it has -beendeclared safe <br />to do so. <br />Fire extinguishers are located in several locations specified <br />AML during the health and safety tailgate meeting. Fire fighting <br />equipment should only be used by those personnel that have been <br />trained. There is a right and wrong way to fight a fire with <br />portable fire fighting- equipment. If you have not -been trained <br />to fight a fire, leave the area and let those who have been <br />trained attempt to fight the fire. <br />Do not take a chance in a fire. LEAVE THE AREA. Buildings and <br />equipment can be replaced but not human lives. <br />3.7 Earthquake <br />The following guidelines apply when an earthquake is felt at the <br />Site. <br />1. In the event of an earthquake, get under something that you <br />feel is substantial such as a door frame or desk if you are <br />in the office area. Stay there until the shaking stops. <br />Stay close to the safe areas as after shocks, which can be <br />as strong as the original quake, follow shortly after the <br />initial shaking. When the shaking stops, proceed to the <br />nearest exit and report at the designated assembly area <br />(DSA; Figure 1). <br />0 EA -6 <br />
