U <br />• <br />5. Suitable warning and "No Smoking" signs shall be <br />posted in all storage, refueling and service areas <br />containing flammable or combustible liquids or <br />gases. Smoking or the use of open flames within <br />50 feet of these area is prohibited. <br />6 SHOP OPERATIONS <br />Equipment powered by an internal combustion engine shall be <br />located so that the exhausts are well away from combustible <br />materials. When the exhausts are piped to the exterior of a <br />building, a clearance of at least 6 inches shall be <br />maintained between such piping and combustible material. <br />7 OPEN YARD STORAGE <br />A. Combustible Materials <br />1. - rivaeways . , tween and around combustible-ztorage <br />piles ghall be at least 15 feet wide and <br />intained-..free from accumulation of rubbish, <br />equipment or other articles or materials. <br />2. The entire storage site shall be kept free from <br />accumulation of unnecessary combustible materials. <br />Weeds and grass shall be kept down and a regular <br />procedure provided for the periodic clean up of <br />.the entire area. <br />3. No combustible material shall be stored outdoors <br />within 10 feet of a building or structure. <br />B. Flammable and Combustible Liquids <br />1. Piles or groups of containers shall be separated <br />by a 5 -foot clearance. Piles or groups of <br />containers shall not be placed within 20 feet of a <br />building. <br />2. The storage area is to be curbed or bermed to <br />contain 100% of the contents of stored liquid in <br />the event of a spill. <br />3. The storage area and berm is to be covered with an <br />impermeable membrane to prevent contamination of <br />FP -4 <br />
