"Geotechnical Project Director" - Geological/geotechnical professional <br />registered in the State of California who, under the employ of the Geotechnical <br />CQA Consultant is responsible for earthwork observation, monitoring and testing. <br />"Geotechnical Construction Quality Assurance for Earthwork" - The protocols to <br />be followed in evaluating the adequacy of the Contractor's work with regard to all <br />elements of earthworks construction with the exception of line and grade (survey) <br />control. Said work shall include but need not be limited to all CQA activities <br />delineated herein and in the Specifications. Geotechnical CQA is to be provided <br />by a party independent of the Contractor. <br />"Geotechnical Quality Assurance for Geosynthetics" - The protocols to be <br />followed in evaluating the quality of the Contractor's work with regard to all <br />elements of geosynthetic installation with the exception of line and grade (survey) <br />control. Said work shall include but need not be limited to -all CQA activities <br />delineated herein. Geotechnical CQA for geosynthetics is to be provided by a <br />party independent of the liner manufacturer, Contractor and liner Subcontractor. <br />"Geotextile" - A permeable synthetic textile used with soil, rock, sand, gravel or <br />any other similar materials as an integral part of the composite liner system. It <br />can provide protection to other systems or serve to separate different materials. <br />ANIL °'Independent Testing Laboratory" - The firm responsible for conducting selected <br />tests of materials and/or products used for the project, such as conformance and <br />qW destructive seam testing. The laboratory shall be,independent of the Owner, <br />County, Manufacturer, Geosynthetics Subcontractor and any party involved with <br />the manufacture and/or installation of any product to be tested. <br />"Landfill Engineer„ - The firm responsible for the design and preparation of the <br />Project Drawings and Specifications. The Engineer or his representative is also <br />responsible for observing, testing, and documenting activities related to quality <br />assurance for all aspects of construction. All completed work is subject to <br />approval by the Engineer. <br />"Liner Manufacturer" - Firm(s) responsible for the production of the <br />geosynthetic material. <br />"Liner Subcontractor" - The firm responsible for handling, storing, placing, <br />seaming, and other aspects of the installation of the geosynthetics included in the <br />project. <br />"Lot" - A quantity of relatively uniform geosynthetic material produced using a <br />specific, identifiable constituent mix.
