0 1.2 SETTING <br />1.2.1 LOCATION <br />The Forward Landfill is located at 9999 South Austin Road in Manteca, <br />California at approximately Latitude 37°52' 94" and Longitude 121 °52' 59". <br />The site is located in Section 3 of Township 1S, Range 7E, Mount Diablo <br />Baseline and Meridian (MDB&M) and Section 34 of Township 1 N, Range 7E <br />MDB&M. The Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APN) for the site are 181-150-07, <br />181-150-08, 181-150-09, 181-150-10, 201-060-01, 201-060-02, 201-060-03, <br />and 201-060-05. A site vicinity map is depicted on Drawing Sheet 1. <br />1.2.2 FACILITY OVERVIEW <br />The Forward Landfill is composed of the Forward and Austin Road Landfills <br />which were combined into a single disposal facility and created one unified <br />facility with a single set of permits. <br />The entire Forward Landfill site area is 567 acres. The landfill disposal area <br />incorporates both existing and future waste management units. The site is <br />bounded on its east side by Austin Road and on a portion of its west side by <br />Newcastle Road. <br />Stage IA is a 30 -acre area as shown on Figure 1 and Drawing Sheet 2. This <br />area includes the final fill slopes on the north side slope at the Austin Road <br />Unit. As part of this project, the area will be cleared and grubbed, as <br />necessary, and the closure improvements constructed (e.g., final cover, <br />permanent drainage, landfill gas system modification, etc.). <br />1.2.3 SURROUNDING LAND USE <br />Pursuant to the San Joaquin County 2010 General Plan and the <br />Development Title adopted by the County Board of Supervisors on July 24, <br />1992, the General Plan designation for the landfill site is G/A <br />AWIL (General/Agricultural), and the zoning is AG -40 (General/Agricultural, 40 -acre <br />49 <br />Forward Landfill PFCPCMP 1-4 <br />Z:\PROJECTS\Allied Waste\Forward\Reference Files Prior JTD\June 05 Stage IA Partial FCPCMP\FL-secl .doc: <br />
