Processed and Treated Auto Shredder Residue (TASK): TASR, that has been
processed and treated in accordance with 22 CCR Section 66268.106(a)(1), is
delivered directly to the working face and stockpiled to the side. If more
material comes in than is required for the day, the material is stockpiled
within the waste management unit and used, as needed. The TASR is evenly
spread and compacted over the active face in a minimum 6-inch lift and
average compacted thickness of less than 24-inches using a dozer. If there is
precipitation or a local forecast with greater than 40 percent chance of
precipitation within 8 hours of ADC application time in the vicinity of the
landfill, an approximately 2-inch layer of soil is spread over the TASR such
that no voids are left exposed.
Construction and Demolition Wastes (processed): Construction and
Demolition (C&D) wastes accepted.at the site for ADC are preprocessed by
crushing, grinding, or screening to a maximum particle size of 18-inches. C&D
is delivered directly to the working face and stockpiled to the side. If more
material comes in than is required for the day, the material is stockpiled
within the waste management unit and used, as needed. The C&D wastes
are evenly spread over the active face in a minimum 6-inch lift and average
compacted lift thickness of less than 18-inches using a dozer. The lift is
compacted such that it is free of voids. If voids are present, an
approximately 2-inch layer of soil is spread over the C&D waste to eliminate
voids.
The amount of ADC used at the site is variable. The active face, over which
ADC is placed, is kept as small as possible to reduce litter and vectors but
large enough to allow safe and efficient traffic management. Daily ADC use
could vary from 0 to 40 percent. The quantities of ADC used at the site will be
recorded and maintained in the operations record for the site. The forms
used to record ADC use are included in Appendix M. If the site uses multiple
types of ADC, the usage will be recorded by amount and type.
Forward will continue to investigate other sources for daily cover materials,
including those allowed in accordance with 27 CCR, Section 20690. As these
types of ADC materials become available from the waste stream, Forward will
inform the regulatory agencies of their desire to use these materials and
provide any necessary documentation.
Forward Landfill JTD 6-11
L:\Allied\2000.193\Reports\finaljtd:Sec-6.0 6-9-03:S/22/02
Rev. 1: 7/2002: Rev. 2: 4/2003; Rev 3: 6/2003
