No designated wastes are accepted at the RRF. The designated wastes proposed
for acceptance at the Forward Landfill are routed directly to the landfill.
No wastes requiring special handling are accepted at the RRF. The wastes
requiring special handling proposed for acceptance at the Forward Landfill are
routed directly to the landfill.
The materials recovered at the RRF include wood, cardboard, metals, California
redemption glass, and #1 and #2 plastic. The wood waste is from commercial,
publie, and private generators and includes tree trimmings, pallets, construction
remnants, demolition lumber, saw dust, and pits.
In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17407.5(a) and (c), the operator does not
intentionally accept or store hazardous wastes, including batteries, paint or any
liquid wastes (i.e., sewage sludge, industrial waste, water treatment sludge, grit
screenings or other high liquid content wastes), designated waste or wastes
requiring special handling.
2.5.2 WASTE QUANTITIES
The proposed capacity for the RRF is a maximum of 500 TPD municipal solid
waste and/or heavier mixed recyclables. Based on the calculations, the storage
capacity of the RRF building is between 200 and 500 tons based on the types
and mix of materials received. The flow through capacity of the existing RRF
building is 750+ TPD. This design allows the operator to have adequate storage
capacity for residual wastes awaiting removal to the Forward Landfill within 48
hours as allowed under 14 CCR, Section 17410.1.
Currently, there are no daily peak loadings. The site is to receive up to 150 trucks
per day. Loading up to the maximum traffic inflow can be accommodated by the
use of back-up equipment and additional trips to the Forward Landfill can be
accomplished to handle residual waste. If the capacity is ever reached, additional
personnel will be added. When the RRF is at capacity, all excess loads are turned
away.
Forward,Inc.Resource Recovery Facility 2-5
Transfer/Processing Report
(L:\Allied\2003.0146\Report\Final TPR\Sec2.doc10/22/03;Revision 1: 11/7/2003)
BRYAN A.STIRRAT&ASSOCIATES
