In the early to mid
morning, deployment arrived at an area where subgrade was unacceptable for deployment and GSE halted
liner deployment until conditions could improve to favorable. By mid afternoon, the wet areas had not dried
sufficiently for deployment to continue. The GSE foreman was verbally informed of the condition of the
clay and he stated that he would not continue until tomorrow. Two(2)rolls of double textured 60 mil were
placed and seamed throughout the morning. In the afternoon, the crew cleaned up trash, cut destructs and
patched the areas, performed air and vacuum box testing and finished the geot:omposite in the northwest
comer. This work completed the tie-in between the west and north slopes of the cell.
Sukut continued work on the clay in the southeast and southwest comers of the cell. The blade graded the
clay as the scraper picked up and hauled excess material to the stockpile. Laborers continued to remove
visquine from the south central cell floor. One(1) sample of granular drainage material was delivered to the
site by Granite personnel. One portion of the sample will be tested for gradation on site and the other
portion will be transported to the Vector laboratory for constant head permeability testing and sieve
analysis. The same goes for the coarse drain rock. Monte C. (Vector)was briefly on site to pick up the rock
samples and to observe the condition of the clay.
Prepared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
r-?
