In the early morning, they began deployment of the twelve-ounce(12 oz)geotextile on the
east cell floor, working east to west. After visual recon was performed on the clay, moisture conditions at
various locations on the west floor were unacceptable for deployment. By midmorning, the wet areas were
ripped with the skip loader and left to dry. The GSE foreman was verbally informed of the condition of the
clay and he stated that he would not continue 60 mil deployment until tomorrow. In the afternoon, the crew
cleaned up trash, cut destructs and patched the areas, and performed vacuum box testing.
Sukut continued work on the clay in the southeast and southwest comers of the cell and in the sump. The
blade graded the clay as the scraper picked up and hauled excess material to the stockpile. Standing water
was pumped out of the west"V"ditch into the water truck, the saturated clay removed and replaced with
acceptable material. Laborers continued to slowly remove visquine from the south central cell floor. After
removal, these areas were also ripped and left to dry. The Sukut foreman stated that the surveyor would be
on site on Monday(11-24-03)to shoot the sump and surrounding area clay.
One(1)sample of granular drainage material was washed over the 200 sieve and will be tested for
gradation tomorrow. The one foot portions of the destructive samples belonging to Forward,Inc. were
gathered and a request was made to Forward personnel for a container to store their portion. The remainder
of destructive samples marked and obtained to date will be tested tomorrow.
Prepared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev.0 1 of 1
r-,)
