Sukut Construction completed the
fill placement on the access road from the scale house west toward the FU-03 refuse cell. The 16G blade cut
and shaped the north slope of the refuse cell, over the existing refuse from north to south in the early
morning to finish the slope grading. In the mid morning, he moved to finish blade the access road. The D6
dozers cut the northwest and southeast comers of the FU-03 cell. The D8 dozer cut the inside north slope of
the same cell with the scraper hauling the excess cut material to the stockpile.
Two(2)nuclear moisture density tests were performed at random locations at finished elevation on the
native fill along the access road. The finished elevation was assumed to be thirty-five feet(35')as it
matched the area that could be measured to the west. The plans did not show an elevation in this area but
the contour line matches the road to the west. Both tests passed specification in density and in moisture
content and the on site foreman was verbally informed of the test results. Results of the constant head
permeability test performed on the granular drainage material were verbally received by phone from the
Vector laboratory and were within specification. Jim(Sukut)and Butch(Forward)were verbally informed
of the passing test results.
Another bulk composite bucket sample of the stockpiled material was obtained of the native clay for off site
testing in the Vector laboratory. The sample will be tested for phi angle in the large-scale direct shear
machine.
BLC Surveying was on site to perform the preliminary survey of the north 5:1 slope of the refuse cell and
also the floor of the cell. Jim stated that clay placement on the cell floor could begin as early as Thursday
(10-9-03) if the next survey was accepted.
Drillers were on site throughout the day to abandon the water well on the access road.
Prepared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
r-,)
