October 21,2003 Tuesday General Contractor: Liner Contractor: Project Engineer: Sukut Construction GSE San Beta Lewis General Foreman: Liner Superintendent: Other: David Hasal Source and Description of Fill Material: Weather: CQA Technician: On site native, light brown silty CLAY Hot, clear and Ken Davila breezy Equipment on site: I-D6 dozer, 1-water truck, 1-DS dozer, 1-633 scra er, 1-16G blade NOTES(Describe work completed during the day,any problems and their solutions): I arrived on site today for testing and observations at the location listed above. The foreman for Sukut was grade setting in the morning so we couldn't discuss the day's plan of operation. Sukut Construction continued the earthworks operations with the 16G blade and D5 dozer cutting the east FU-03 cell floor area and the scraper hauling the excess cut material to the stockpile. In the afternoon,the blade moved to the north cell floor and the D5 moved back to cutting the desilting basin's north slope. The D6 dozer continued cutting the north and east slopes of the leachate pond. Sukut's surveyors were on site today to plot points on the cell floor and various other locations. Review of the certifications and an on site check-in of geocomposite began and will continue throughout the day. At shift's end,all rolls of geocomposite had been accounted for and were logged in. On site lab testing of the clay material continued with the set up of two(2)Atterberg limits and two sieve analyses (gradations). Both were left to soak overnight as per ASTM standards.
