(Sukut superintendent) in the early morning to discuss the day's
plan of operation. He stated that the north, east and west FU-03 cell floor areas would be completed by
Sunday. The south area, where the sump is, would still have to be surveyed on Monday by Quartaroli
Surveying, prior to rock, geosynthetic or clay placement. General earthworks operations continued with the
blade cutting the south sump area of the FU-03 cell throughout the morning. The three(3)scrapers hauled
stockpiled material to the north and west cell floor areas where the sheepsfoot compactor applied
compactive effort. The D6 dozer began cutting the floor of the leachate pond in the morning. The trencher
and backhoe continued cutting anchor trench along the south edge of the cell in the morning. In the
afternoon, the backhoe began cutting the west anchor/termination trench for the five to one(5:1)slope.
Review of the conformance results, the roll certifications of the Bentofix GCL and the geotextile(12oz)
material continued as time permitted. On site lab testing of the clay material continued with the completion
of one(1)Atterberg limits test. Calculations and test plotting will be performed tomorrow after overnight
oven drying. Nineteen(19)nuclear moisture density tests were performed at random locations and
elevations throughout the day. All tests passed the 90 %compaction specification and also passed in
moisture content. The on site foreman for Sukut was verbally informed of the test results. Two(2)more
drive tube permeability tests were obtained and transported to off-site Vector personnel for transportation to
the Vector laboratory.
The drillers were on site to continue well abandonment on the access road.
Prepared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev.0 1 of 1
ra
