October 23, 2003 1 Thursday General Contractor: Liner Contractor: Project Engineer: Sukut Construction GSE San Beta Lewis General Foreman: Liner Superintendent: Other: David Hasal A e Khounmouan9 Bryan Fritzler Vector Source and Description of Fill Material: Weather: CQA Technician: On site native, light brown silty CLAY Warm, clear and Ken Davila wind Equipment on site: 1-D6 dozer, 1-water truck, 1-D5 dozer, 1-633 scra er 1-16G blade 1-backhoe, 1-trencher NOTES(Describe work completed during the day,any problems and their solutions): I arrived on site today and began testing the clay materials previously sampled. In the early to mid morning, one(1)truck arrived with two(2)rolls of sixteen(16oz)ounce geotextile,ten(10) rolls of eight (8oz)ounce geotextile and fifteen(15)rolls of geonet. The material was unloaded by Forward personnel, checked for damage and logged in. Sukut continued the earthworks operations with the blade cutting subgrade in the west FU-03 cell floor in the early morning. The scraper hauled the excess cut material from the cell floor to the stockpile. The D6 dozer finished cutting the slopes of the leachate pond in the late morning. The trencher and backhoe began cutting the west anchor trench of the cell. Sukut's surveyors and Mike Q. (Quartaroli Surveying) were on site today to check the cell floor subgrade and slopes. In the mid-afternoon,the north and east sides of the cell floor were scrafied and clay placement began on the north end. Review of the certifications and the on site check-in of geotextile material (12oz)had begun in the mid- morning and will continue tomorrow. On site lab testing of the clay material continued with the completion of three(3) sieve analyses. All three passed the required specification. Bryan F. (Vector-project manager)was briefly on site to review data sheets,deliver conformance test results and to discuss project progress and scheduling.
