processed and treated in accordance with 22 CCR Section 66268.106(a)(1), is
delivered directly to the working face and stockpiled to the side. If more material
comes in than is required for the day, the material is stockpiled within the waste
management unit and used, as needed. The TASK is evenly spread and
compacted over the active face in a minimum 6-inch lift and average compacted
thickness of less than 24-inches using a dozer. If there is precipitation or a local
forecast with greater than 40 percent chance of precipitation within 8 hours of
ADC application time in the vicinity of the landfill, an approximately 2-inch layer
of soil is spread over the TASR such that no voids are left exposed.
Construction and Demolition Wastes (processed): Construction and Demolition
(C&D) wastes accepted at the site for ADC are preprocessed by crushing,
grinding, or screening to a maximum particle size of 18-inches. Low-litter residue
may be segregated from other high litter residue and further processed to
produce an ADC material meeting the gradation specifications required by Title
27 Section 20690, or as otherwise approved by the LEA.
C&D is delivered directly to the working face and stockpiled to the side. If more
material comes in than is required for the day, the material is stockpiled within
the waste management unit and used, as needed. Processed C&D waste
materials will be ground, pulverized, shredded, screened, source separated, or
otherwise processed alone or mixed with soil in a manner to provide a
compacted material free of open voids when applied to meet the performance
requirements as alternate daily cover. Processed C&D waste materials used as
ADC shall be restricted to the following materials: rock, concrete, brick, sand,
soil, ceramics, cured asphalt, lumber and wood, wood products, roofing material,
plastic pipe, plant material when commingled from construction work, and fines
derived from processing the above materials. These materials shall comply with
a grain size specification by volume of 95 percent less than 12 inches and 50
percent less than 6 inches as determined by the LEA. The C&D wastes are
evenly spread over the active face in a minimum 6-inch lift and average
compacted lift thickness of less than 18-inches using a dozer. The lift is
compacted such that it is free of voids. If voids are present, an approximately 2-
inch layer of soil is spread over the C&D waste to eliminate voids.
Contaminated Soil: Contaminated soil, suitable for use as ADC, (CS) is
stockpiled close to the active face to facilitate application as daily cover.
