spread and compacted evenly over the active face in a minimum 6-inch lift and
average compacted lift thickness of less than 18-inches using a dozer. If the ash
or cement kiln dust has larger particles that can not be placed without creating
voids, the material will be blended with soil such that no voids are left exposed '
and the ash or cement kiln dust will not be tracked off the working face area. In
addition, the ash and cement kiln dust is utilized in a manner to minimize the
creation of dust by spraying with water trucks and, when feasible, stockpiling
and placing material in locations that are protected from the wind.
Compostable Materials (off-spec delivered by generator): Compost materials
are delivered directly to the working face and stockpiled to the side. If more
material comes in than is required for the day, the material is stockpiled within
the waste management unit and used, as needed. The compost material is
spread evenly over the active face in an approximately 6-inch lift using a dozer.
Processed and Treated Auto Shredder Residue (TASK): TASR, that has been
processed and treated in accordance with 22 CCR Section 66268.106(a)(1), is
AOL delivered directly to the working face and stockpiled to the side. If more material
comes in than is required for the day, the material is stockpiled within the waste
management unit and used, as needed. The TASR is evenly spread and
compacted over the active face in a minimum 6-inch lift and average compacted
thickness of less than 24-inches using a dozer. If there is precipitation or a local
forecast with greater than 40 percent chance of precipitation within 8 hours of
ADC application time in the vicinity of the landfill, an approximately 2-inch layer
of soil is spread over the TASR such that no voids are left exposed.
Construction and Demolition Wastes (processed): Construction and Demolition
(C&D) wastes accepted at the site for ADC are preprocessed by crushing,
grinding, or screening to a maximum particle size of 18-inches. Low-litter residue
may be segregated from other high litter residue and further processed to
produce an ADC material meeting the gradation specifications required by Title
27 Section 20690, or as otherwise approved by the LEA.
C&D is delivered directly to the working face and stockpiled to the side. If more
material comes in than is required for the day, the material is stockpiled within
the waste management unit and used, as needed.
