2 PROJECT OVERVIEW
This section provides an overview of the scope of the construction project work,
identifying the major tasks, and the parties involved in construction and CQA. The
remainder of this report describes the actual construction activities in greater detail.
2.1 Summary of Construction Work
The Forward Sanitary Landfill GCCS consists of an active LFG extraction well and
collection piping system and an LFG blower/ flare station. The construction consisted of
three major components:
• Drill and install 13 vertical LFG extraction wells in soil near the property
boundary
• Drill and install 39 multi-level LFG monitoring probes in soil near the property
boundary
0 • Install LFG flow control wellheads on the vertical LFG extraction wells
• Construct PVC lateral piping, with corrugated steel pipe (CSP) road crossing
sleeves, to connect the new LFG extraction wells to an existing 18-inch HDPE
vacuum header pipe in the landfill
The construction work was based on drawings and specifications contained in the
Perimeter Gas Migration Control System (Revision 1) (Brian A. Stirrat & Associates
[BAS], September 2004).
2.2 Project Principals
This section summarizes the major participants in the work and their contact information.
The Regenesis Group (TRG) acted as the general contractor. TRG provided drilling
services, and installed the LFG extraction wells, multi-level monitoring probes, and
collection piping. Cascade Drilling also provided low-clearance drilling services for four
multi-level monitoring probes located beneath overhead power lines. BAS designed the
perimeter migration system expansion and is the project engineer-of-record. EMCON
provided the field CQA services for the project.
EMCON/OWT
N:\_LANDFIL\AWI Austin Road-Forward\2004 SVE CQA\text\report\CQA report final.doc Rev.0,115105
2-1
