EMCON/OWT—Shaw Environmental,Inc. <br /> 2360 Bering Drive Office: (408) 382-5800 <br /> San Jose, CA 95131 Fax: (408) 433-1912 <br /> 2.3 Construction Work Sequence <br /> The 13 perimeter vertical gas extraction wells and 35 of the multi-level monitoring <br /> probes were drilled and installed by TRG between September 23, 2004 and September <br /> 28, 2004. The wellheads and lateral piping connections to the existing system were <br /> installed by TRG between October 5, 2004 and October 15, 2004. The remaining four <br /> multi-level monitoring probes were drilled and installed by CDI on October 14 and 15, <br /> 2004. <br /> 2.4 Construction Quality Assurance <br /> 2.4.1 CQA Program <br /> Project CQA monitoring was provided by EMCON. EMCON verified that the GCCS <br /> construction was consistent with project specifications and construction drawings. A <br /> CQA monitor performed on-site construction observation during construction of each of <br /> the major components. The site CQA monitor observed the Contractor's progress and <br /> monitored the construction for deficiencies. The site observations were documented in <br /> daily construction reports. The CQA monitors' activities for each construction <br /> component are described in Section 3, and in the daily reports contained in Appendix B. <br /> Engineering supervision of the CQA activities was provided by EMCON's project <br /> manager and project engineer. EMCON's quality assurance services included the <br /> following general activities: <br /> • Daily observation of all on-site LFG construction work <br /> • Daily documentation of contractor activities and quality, including daily reports <br /> copied to all principals <br /> • Facilitating communications between AWI and the construction Contractors <br /> • Reviewing Contractors' daily work records to accurately reflect completed work <br /> • Office and field engineering support for submittal reviews, and as otherwise <br /> requested or authorized by AWI <br /> • Prepare the final CQA report, certifying construction in accordance with the <br /> contract documents and AWI-approved changes <br /> EMCON/ORT <br /> N:\_landfil\AWI Austin Road-Forward\2004 SVE CQA\text\report\CQA report final.doc Rev.0,1/6/05 <br /> 2-3 <br />
