The report documents
the construction and construction quality assurance (CQA) procedures for the northern portion
of Waste Management Unit (WMU) FU-06. The northern portion of WMU FU-06 overlies the
Austin Road Landfill interim final cover, the existing cover serves as the base liner component.
The report documents construction and quality assurance activities associated with:
construction of a temporary perimeter berm overlain with 60-mil HDPE Geomembrane,
preparation of sub-grade, installation and placement of an 8-oz geotextile, overlain with a
minimum 6-inch thick gravel blanket LCRS, overlain with second 8-oz geotextile. A 1-foot
protective operations layer was installed over the LCRS.
Vector Engineering conducted the CQA observations and testing during construction of the
waste management unit. Vector states that the liner has been constructed in general
accordance with the plans and specifications, the CQA Plan and applicable regulations.
Based on the CQA report, on supporting test results and design documents the Northern
Portion of WMU FU-06 is approved for waste discharge operations in accordance with the
facility's waste discharge requirements.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 464-4614.
ROSS D.
