GROUNDWATER MONITORING. Monitoring Wells Equipment The groundwater monitoring wells at Forward are equipped with dedicated submerged pumps for Ping and collection groundwater samples.. The field technician petforrriing the gmdtivr monitoring will have a list ofi r cxluipmcnt that-should be available with.which to complete the monitoring.' The necessary aquupmcnt is listed below. This list includes actual equipment used to purge and sample the wells in addition. to personal.pr6tective gear that must be worn for protection and to reduce the potential for cross.contamination of the wells and samples. Some of the equipment used includes various instruments which require calibration. Ca11-bration- procedures are discussed below, Calibration Procedures Many of the meters tbat are used in the field must be calibrated to produce reliable results. The following discusses cali'biation rationale,procedures,and frequency for the instnments. Water Level Indicator Water lcvcl indicators roust'be calibrated regularly to assure that data is not being measured incorrectly clue to the cable stretching. To calibrate the water level indicator the cable is nm out to its entire length and measured against a tape measure.
