Guinn
Construction continued using the 627 scrapers to haul clay throughout the day. One dozer, one water truck
and the sheepsfoot roller also worked on the north slope. The other water trucks moisture conditioned the
haul roads and the cut area behind the tractor with discs. The contractor continued excavating the I% slope
® for the seep collection pipes along the toe of the north slope. Sections of perforated and nonperforated pipes
were placed along the shallow trench as were the leachate collection sumps, drain rock, geomembrane and
geocomposite. The backhoe was used to pothole the clay to verify thickness. The excavations were down to
refuse then measured. All excavations confirmed that the proper thickness had been achieved.
Thirty (30) nuclear moisture density tests were performed at random locations and elevations on the north
slope fill area, west to east. All tests passed the specified values in density and moisture content and the on
site foreman was verbally informed of the test results. Three permeability tests samples were collected from
the north slope fill area for off site laboratory testing.
Prepared By:
4/23/03, Rev. 0 1 of 1
C-2
Reviewed By: 6q C
