® 1.3 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The Forward Landfill is located at 9999 South Austin Road in Manteca, California <br /> within San Joaquin County. The FL is currently permitted to operate as a Class II and <br /> Class III waste disposal site in accordance with local, State, and federal regulations. In <br /> addition to Class III wastes, the landfill accepts friable asbestos containing wastes with <br /> greater than 1 percent friable asbestos and Class II designated wastes such as treated <br /> auto shredder waste, as described in the current Joint Technical Document (JTD). <br /> The landfill property consists of 567 acres and the current permitted disposal area <br /> footprint is 354.5 acres. The FL is permitted to accept 8,668 tons per day (TPD), <br /> including alternative daily cover (ADC) materials. The total remaining airspace for the <br /> Forward Landfill, as of May 2006, is 29.38 million cubic yards (mcy) (date of last aerial <br /> survey was February 2005) and has a projected site life of approximately 11 years (as <br /> of May 2006). <br /> 1.4 REPORT ORGANIZATION <br /> The HWEP is divided into four main components, Sections 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0. <br /> Section 1.0 provides an introduction to the site, regulations affecting the site, and <br /> report organization. Section 2.0 describes the HWEP designated storage area. <br /> Section 3.0 includes information of the HWEP disposal operations and handling <br /> procedures.
