2. Rinse the turbidity probe with deionized water then place in the standard solution.
3. Adjust the meter for appropriate turbidity, scalc then read the turbidity.
4. If required use the "calibrate" adjustment on the meter to correct the instrument to read
the correct turbidity. -
The calibration .process will be'recorded on a turbidity calibration log. A Sample Calibration
Log is located in Appendix C. Copies of calibration logs for each individual instrument are kept
in a binder at the office. The logs are reviewed periodically top assess whether the instrument is
becoming more difficult to c lalibraxe and therefore needs adjustment by the
manufacturer, ®r if
new probes are required.
Equipment Decontamination
To reduce the potential for introducing contaminants or cross-contaminating samples, sampling
equipment that is used repeatedly, at different wells (m-line filter, meters) wip be washed in a
trisodium.phosphate solution and triple rinsed with deioni=d water prior to-use.in each-welL-.
The monitoring wells arc equipped with dedicated-sampling-systems which.:-will not-
require
decontamination. Sterile factory sealed disposable bailers are used to collect the samples_ Bailer
cord is replaced between each well.
Monitoring Order
Groundwater monitoring will be conducted such that depth to water measurements and sampling
is performed in the least contaminated wells first(based on historical results). Measurement and
sampling order will then move from lessor '- *wells to the most impacted wells., This is
done to reduce the potential that wells and samples can be cross contaminated. Groundwater
monitoring order begins at MW 20 and then MW 12 which are the background wells. The next
wells,'listed in order, to be sampled arc MW-15, -10, -1 and -3.. These wells rarely contain
evidence of chemical impacts. The last wells to be-sampled, listed in order, include -14,.-13
and -2. - Proposed well 16 will be sainpled in an appropriate order depending on what
constituents are detected (if any) in tfie well upon the first sampling. Initially, MW-16 will-be
the last,well sampled.
s
Z493949401\2310323A duly 14,2404
2W KkWC1&r'1W_
