2.5 LABELING <br />A. Mark or tag geotextile rolls with the following information: <br />1. <br />Manufacturer's name. <br />2. <br />Product identification. <br />3. <br />Lot number or date. <br />4. <br />Roll number. <br />5. <br />Roll dimensions. <br />B. Mark special handling requirements on rolls. <br />2.6 DAMAGED GEOTEXTILE <br />A. Geotextile damaged during transportation, loading, unloading, and delivery shall be <br />documented by the QA/QC CONSULTANT. <br />B. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall repair geotextile damaged before <br />delivery to the satisfaction of the QA/QC CONSULTANT. If the geotextile can not <br />be repaired to the satisfaction of the QA/QC CONSULTANT, the damaged <br />geotextile shall be replaced by the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR, at no cost <br />to the OWNER. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Prior to installation of geotextile, examine underlying construction for conformance <br />with specifications. <br />3.2 PROTECTION <br />A. When placing soil materials over geotextile ensure the following: <br />1. No damage to geotextile. <br />2. No slippage of geotextile on underlying layers. <br />3. No excessive tensile stresses in the geotextile. <br />B. Ensure that geotextiles are covered within 10 days of deployment. <br />3.3 DEPLOYMENT <br />A. Follow manufacturer's recommendations, standards, and guidelines. <br />B. Roll geotextile down slope keeping the geotextile sheet in sufficient tension to <br />prevent folds and wrinkles. <br />C. Weight geotextile with sandbags, or equivalent, to ballast during deployment.
