System uptime during third
quarter 2008 excluding the annual acid wash and effluent pipe replacement was
87.1 percent. During this period, the GTF removed approximately 1.5 pounds of volatile
organic compounds(VOC).
• During third quarter 2008,the effluent samples collected in July,August, and September
met WDR Order No. R5-2003-0080 for VOCs.No VOCs were detected.
2.0 Operational Summary
The GTF operated for 1,553 hours between July 1 and September 30,2008,at 70.3 percent
uptime, and treated 16.920 million gallons of groundwater at an average flow rate of
182 gallons per minute,or 0.261 million gallons per day. During this period, the GTF
removed approximately 1.5 pounds of VOCs.Table 1 presents the monthly average effluent
flow rates in gallons per day.
TABLE 1
Monthly Average Effluent Flow Rates
Third Quarter 2008 Groundwater Treatment Facility Monitoring Report,
Forward Landfill WDR Order No.135-2003-0080
Average Flow Rate
Month (gallons per day)
July 265,000
August 271,000
September 256,000
At the g beginning of third quarter 2008,extraction wells EW-1 and EW-2 were operational,
g
and the effluent was discharging to the infiltration pond.
