Landfill Owner/Operator
Forward, Inc.
9999 South Austin Road
Manteca, California 95336
Telephone No.: (209)982-4298
A Site Engineer will be retained by the responsible party for closure and post-
closure activities at the Forward Landfill.
1.4 MAXIMUM EXTENT OF CLOSURE
In accordance with 27 CCR, Section 21790, the estimated maximum extent of
the landfill that will ever require closure at any given time during the life of'the
landfill based on the proposed disposal area footprint is approximately 387.8
acres.
1.5 CLOSURE DATE
The Forward Landfill's refuse disposal area consists of approximately 387:.&aeres. k
The total facility capacity is determined based on the difference between the
pre-landfill topography and the final disposal area contours. The total air space
capacity for the landfill is approximately 51,040,000 cubic yards (cy). The
estimated gross remaining airspace for the Forward Landfill is approximately
51,040,000 cy as of January, 2000. Based on landfill capacity calculations
(Appendix C of.the JTD) the remaining site life, utilizing the annual 2000 tonnage
as a base year and an annual growth rate of 1.5 percent, is 19 years. This
remaining site life results in a closure date of June 2020 (see Table 2).
1.6 POST-CLOSURE END USE
The proposed post-closure use for the Forward Landfill is non-irrigated open space,
vegetated and landscaped to blend with surrounding agricultural land uses. The
landfill will be vegetated with drought-resistant vegetation to minimize erosion.
Current closure and post-closure requirements limit end use options in order to
® maintain the integrity of the final cover surface.
