WMU FU-08 October 2008
Forward Landfill Project No.021605.08
• peel strength (ASTM D-4632, modified for 180 degree peel of GCL);
and
• interface shear strength.
Two (2) GCL samples were tested for conformance. Based on 174,750 ft2 of GCL
received, the testing frequency was one test per 87,375 ft2, which satisfies the
requirement of one test per 100,000 ft2.
Interface shear testing was conducted for the GCL/geomembrane/geocomposite
interface. Results of the conformance testing indicated that the materials met the
requirements of the project specifications. A summary of the conformance test
results is presented in Table 8. Detailed test results, including the GCL interface
tests, are provided within Appendix H.
TABLE8
GCL CONFORMANCE TESTING SUMMARY
TEST RESULTS
ASTM D4632 ASTM D 5993 ASTM D 5887
SAMPLE PEEL MASS PER UNIT HYDRAULIC
O.
