WMLI FU-08 October 2008 <br /> Forward Landfill Project No.021605.08 <br /> 6.0 POLYETHYLENE PIPE AND FITTINGS <br /> 6.1 Receiving Inspection <br /> Upon arrival by truck shipment, Vector's CQA Monitor performed the receiving <br /> inspection of the HDPE piping, which consisted of. <br /> • observing that the pipe is the proper size and dimensions with the <br /> specified perforations; <br /> • visually inspecting the pipe for any damage that may have occurred <br /> during transportation and handling; <br /> • observing and documenting that storage of the pipe was in accordance <br /> with the project specifications; and <br /> • documentation required by the specifications was received. <br /> Documentation for the HDPE pipe is included in Appendix M. <br /> 6.2 Installation <br /> Vector's CQA Monitor observed that the pipe was installed at the locations specified <br /> in the construction drawings, and no damage occurred during the placement and <br /> backfill around and over the pipe. Vector's CQA Monitor spot-monitored the fusion <br /> welding operations to ensure that the welding followed the project specifications. <br /> In addition to the pipe, Vector's CQA Monitor observed that the installation of the <br /> HDPE tanks were as specified in the specifications and construction drawings. <br /> Observation and testing of the soils around the sump, including the termination <br /> berm, was done as part of the subgrade preparation and engineered fill <br /> construction. <br /> Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive•Grass Valley, CA 95945 •(530)272-2448 <br /> -34- <br />
