WMU FU-08 October 2008
Forward Landfill Project No.021605.08
5.4.5 Repair
The geotextile materials were checked for defects during deployment and holes or
tears were identified and repaired prior to placement of the cover materials.
5.5 Geocomposite
5.5.1 General
A geocomposite drainage layer was placed as part of the LCRS for the side slopes of
WMU FU-08. The geocomposite consists of a non-woven geotextile fused on one side
of the HDPE geonet. Existing geocomposite from WMU FU-06 material was used
in FU-08. The MQC certifications and conformance test results for this material
were reviewed and approved during FU-06 construction and the documentation for
these rolls is included in the Final Report for FU-06.
5.5.2 Deployment
The panel deployment procedure was observed and documented by Vector's C
Monitor. The C Monitor observed that the conditions of the C manual were
met during deployment. Vector's CA Monitor continuously observed deployment
activities to ensure no damage occurred to the underlying components.
The seam overlap, seaming, tie-ins, and other manufacturer's written guidelines
were followed. Vector's CQA Monitor observed that the components of the
geocomposite (geotextile-geonet) were not bonded at the edges of the rolls to allow
for the geonet ties.
5.5.3 Repair
The materials were checked for defects during deployment and holes or tears were
identified and repaired prior to placement of the cover materials.
Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive•Grass Valley, CA 95945•(530)272-2448
-33-
