• 2.0 SITE CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SETTING <br /> 2.1 INTRODUCTION <br /> The FL property has been characterized in a number of reports which are <br /> referenced throughout this section. Most recently, Geologic Associates (GLA) <br /> evaluated geologic and hydrogeologic conditions within the proposed expansion <br /> area. All reports referenced in this section are available upon request and are <br /> maintained at the site. <br /> 2.2 SITE LOCATION <br /> The FL is located at 9999 South Austin Road in Manteca, California, 95336, at <br /> approximately Latitude 37 52' 94" and Longitude 121 52' 59". The site is <br /> located in Section 3 of Township 1 S, Range 7E, Mount Diablo Baseline and <br /> Meridian (MDB&M), and Section 34 of Township 1 N, Range 7E, MDB&M. The <br /> Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APN) for the currently permitted site are 181-150-07, <br /> 181-150-08, 181-150-09, 181-150-10, 201-060-01, 201-060-02, 201-060-03, and <br /> • 201-060-05. A ninth parcel, currently owned by Forward, (APN 201-060-04) <br /> represents the primary area for the expansion described in this document. A site <br /> vicinity/location map is depicted on Figure 1. <br /> 2.2.1 SURROUNDING LAND USE <br /> Pursuant to the San Joaquin County 2010 General Plan and the Development <br /> Title adopted by the County Board of Supervisors on July 24, 1992, the General <br /> Plan designation for the landfill site is A/G (General/Agricultural), and the zoning <br /> is AG-40 (General/Agricultural, 40-acre minimum lot size). The landfill is <br /> considered a major impact facility and is operated conditionally in the AG-40 <br /> zone. Property to the east, west, and south of the facility is zoned general <br /> agricultural and property to the north is zoned public/institutional. Figure 2 <br /> presents zoning designations and land uses for the FL and surrounding areas. <br /> Adjacent land uses include agricultural lands to the east, west, and south. <br /> Criminal detention and correctional facilities are located approximately 1,900 <br /> feet north of the FL and approximately 300 feet north of the soil borrow area. <br /> • The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Intermodal Facility, a 470-acre train/truck <br /> Forward Landfill-Project Description 2-1 BRYAN A.STIRRAT&ASSOCIATES <br /> j:\Allied\Forward\2007.0018 Lateral Expansion\Reports\Prof Descrip\021308 Final Proj Des\Sec 2.doc:2/13/2008) <br />
