Sampling was performed by Herst & Associates, Inc. VOC analyses were
performed by TestAmerica,Inc.
' During the December 28, 2010 sampling event, the NCYCC was being supplied by on-site water
supply wells as described in the following paragraphs. Forward Landfill has since completed a project
to provide a 12 inch, looped, city waterline system to the NCYCC facility. This system began
' supplying city water on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Well #3 and Well#2 were taken off line during
fourth quarter 2010; the remaining two NCYCC wells (Well#4 and Well #1) were taken off line this
past week.
Well#4 (reported to be the primary water supply well for the facility prior to January 18, 2011, when
the city waterline system began supplying water to the NCYCC) exhibited a tetrachloroethene
concentration below the Maximum Contaminant Limit(MCL). The December 2010 tetrachloroethene
' concentration at Well#4 was reported at 2.0 µg/1 compared to an MCL of 5 µg/1. Trichloroethene was
not detected at Well #4 during this event. Well #4 was operational during the December 2010
sampling event but has been taken off line this past week and no longer supplies water to the NCYCC.
' Well#1 (reported to be a supplemental water supply well that operated about 20% of the year during
peak demand periods prior to January 18, 2011,when the city waterline system began supplying water
to the NCYCC) exhibited a tetrachloroethene concentration above the MCL. The December 2010
tetrachloroethene concentration at Well #1 was reported at 8.1 µg/1 compared to an MCL of 5 µg/1.
Trichloroethene was detected at Well#1 during this event at a concentration of 1.7 µg/1 compared to an
' MCL of 5 µg/1. Well#1 was operational during the December 2010 sampling event but has been taken
off line this past week and no longer supplies water to the NCYCC.
Well#2(reported to be utilized only during short term emergencies prior to January 18,2011,when the
' city waterline system began supplying water to the NCYCC) exhibited a tetrachloroethene
concentration above the MCL. The December 2010 tetrachloroethene concentration at Well #2 was
' 4631 North St. Peters Parkway Telephone(636)939-9111
St.Charles, Missouri 63304 Fax(636)939-9757
