I will inform our crew that the abandonment of the probes will be done in the presence of EHD. Do you
have a detail which shows how the mushroom cap should be constructed?
Thanks,
Scott Angus
Design Manager, Methane Gas Group
BAS - a Tetra Tech Company
1360 Valley Vista Drive I Diamond Bar, CA 191765
Work: 909-860-77771 Fax: 909-396-1768 1 Cell: 951-836-2945
Email: scott.angus@tetratech.com
From: Robert McClellon [EH] [mailto:RMcClellon@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2011 11:10 AM
To: Angus, Scott
Cc: Michael Kith [EH]; Litchfield, Don; Ramirez, Ruben
Subject: RE: Abandonment procedures for old Gas Probes at Forward LF
Scott, you would need to obtain a well destruction permit. The fees are low, but there will be additional billing. The proposed
method of pressure grouting and mushroom cap will be acceptable. Please keep in mind that the Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) wells
recently installed at Forward Inc. were completed w/o EHD supervision. This was after several conversation w/ the driller and site
operator. It still occurred w/o EHD oversight. This is not the first time. I am not sure how to deal with this seeing as it an ongoing
issue with your drillers. The SVE's were extraction wells and not compliance points so re -drilling and re -installing was not
3/9/2011
