00 00 <br /> April 8, 2014 <br /> Under current project plans, 31 of the 32 valley oaks are along the <br /> perimeter of the site or are in the designated wildlife preserve adjacent to <br /> the creek and would not be removed. <br /> Current Status: This mitigation measure is from the former Austin Road <br /> Landfill EIRs. The valley oak trees have not been removed from the <br /> perimeter of the former Austin Road Landfill site or from the designated <br /> wildlife preserve. <br /> (10) 67 Austin 1994(F2.b) (similar),Austin 2000(F2.b) <br /> Prior to initiation of any activity within a 100-foot radius of a valley oak <br /> proposed for retention, the project proponent shall install clearly visible <br /> temporary fencing around the drioline of the Valley oak to prevent <br /> inadvertent damage during on-site activities. Fencing shall be removed <br /> upon completion of activity within the oak's vicinity. Site workers shall be <br /> advised of the sensitivity of on-site oaks to disturbance. <br /> Current Status: No activities are planned within 100-ft of a Valley Oak Tree <br /> during this construction season. <br /> (11) 68 Austin 1994(F2.c) (similar),Austin 2000(F2.c) <br /> Where avoidance of a valley oaks) as specified above is determined <br /> infeasible, the project proponent shall replace each oak as required by the <br /> County's Natural Resources Regulations: three oaks shall be planted in <br /> appropriate locations for each oak removed. Replacement trees shall be <br /> the same species as the removed trees. Replacement trees shall be <br /> planted on the site in association with the Wetland Mitigation and <br /> Monitoring Plan described above. <br /> Current Status: No onsite valley oak trees are currently planned to be <br /> removed. <br /> (12) 69 Austin 1994(F2.d) (similar), Austin 2000(F2.d) <br /> To ensure the success of mitigation, planted and retained trees shall be <br /> monitored for a period of five years following initial disturbance within the <br /> vicinity of a retained tree or following planting of a replacement tree.
