April 8, 2014 <br />Landfill operators will be trained to recognize and properly segregate and <br />handle hazardous waste. This will include a 24-hour hazardous waste <br />materials management training program that complies with 29 CFR, <br />Section 1910. <br />Current Status: Forward continues to implement the load checking program. <br />Hazardous waste training that complies with 29 CFR, Section 1910 is <br />provided to landfiII operators. <br />e. 34 (E.3) <br />Proposed as Part of the Project: <br />The Standard Safe Work Practices listed in the Forward, Inc. Site Health <br />and Safety Program and Contingency Plan will be implemented by the <br />operator. <br />The landfill operator will comply with the provisions of CCR Title 27, <br />Section 20590, which requires that O&M personnel wear and use <br />approved safety equipment for personal heath and safety. <br />Landfill access will continue to be controlled to limit unauthorized entry by <br />persons or vehicles. <br />The landfill operator will comply with all provisions of CCR, Title 27, <br />Division 2, Chapter 3, Subchapter 4, Articles 1-3, "Disposal Site <br />Operations" that apply to landfill health and safety. <br />Current Status: Forward implements the Standard Safe Work Practices and <br />complies with CCR Title 27, Section 20590, which requires that O&M <br />personnel wear and use approved safety equipment for personal health and <br />safety. Forward also complies with the listed Title 27 requirements for <br />landfill health and safety and has routine inspections by the Local <br />Enforcement Agency (San Joaquin County Environmental Health on behalf <br />of the CalRecycle). Landfill access is controlled to limit unauthorized entry <br />by persons or vehicles. <br />f. 35 (E.4) <br />Proposed as Part of the Project: <br />Where required by State and Federal regulations, the landfill gas <br />monitoring, gas control and collection system will be installed, extending to <br />the new areas of the expanding landfill and operating in conformance with <br />applicable regulations. <br />The landfill operator will not construct or otherwise locate any structure in <br />an area of known landfill gas build-up. <br />Page 14 <br />
