:J
April 8, 2014
Aeration and Treatment of Chlorinated Hydro -carbon Contaminated Soils:
For chlorinated hydrocarbon -contaminated soils, the on-site treatment of
contaminated soils by aeration will be managed so as to minimize
exposure to on-site employees as well as off-site residents. Volumes of
soils received, time of storage, and/or the types of contaminants and levels
of contamination present will all be limited to assure exposure risks are no
greater than 10-6. The following limitations apply:
Acreage of Chlorinated Hydrocarbon -Contaminated Soil Treatment —
0.5 acres
Concentration of Contaminants in mg/kg:
Volatile Organic Compounds
Benzene — 5.0 x 10-1
Toluene — 6.9 x 10-1
Ethylbenzene — 9.9 x 102
Xylene —1.3 x 104
Chlorinated Hydrocarbons
Trichloroethylene —1.0
Perchloroethylene —1.0 x 101
1,2 Dichloroethane — 2.0 x 10-1
1,1 Dichloroethane —1.0 x 10-2
1,1,1 Trichloroethane —1.0 x 101
Methylene Chloride —1.0
PAHs (carcinogenic) — 7.5 x 101
PCBs —1.0 x 101
PCDD/Fs — 3.0 x 10-5
Cresol — 4.0 x 103
Metals
Arsenic — 5.0 x 101
Beryllium — 7.5
Cadmium —1.0 x 101
Chromium III — 4.0 x 102
Copper - 2.2 x 102
Lead - 5.0 x 101
Mercury — 2.0
Nickel — 2.0 x 1.02
Zinc 9.2 x 101
Page 17
