April 8, 2014 <br />Current Status: Forward has met with the Stockton Metropolitan Airport <br />regarding development plans for the site. The Notice of Proposed <br />Construction (Form 7460-1) was filed with the FAA in December 2006 and <br />January 2007. <br />As required by CCR Title 27, Section 20270(c), a demonstration has been <br />placed in Forward's operating record and CalRecycle has been notified. <br />The Stockton Metropolitan Airport has not currently requested any <br />additional measures to mitigate bird population impacts, however Forward <br />has been using a falconer to deter birds at the site. <br />b. 2 (A.4) <br />Proposed as Part of the Project: <br />Aircraft warning lights will be installed at the landfill as and when required <br />by the FAA. <br />As required by California Code of Regulation Title 27, Section 20270(b), <br />Airport Safety, the owner or operators proposing to site new solid waste <br />facility units and lateral expansions within a five -mile radius of any airport <br />runway end used by turbojet or piston -type aircraft must notify the affected <br />airport and the FAA. <br />As required by California Code of Regulation Title 27, Section 20270(c), <br />Airport Safety, the owner or operator must place the demonstration in the <br />operating record and notify CalRecycle that it has been placed in the <br />operating record. <br />Current Status: The FAA has not requested Forward to install aircraft <br />warning lights. See Item 4A, above, regarding airport notification and <br />required demonstrations. <br />The project sponsor shall include downward shielding of new landfill <br />lighting, and shall abide by any additional reasonable and feasible <br />measures, including reducing or eliminating lighting during foggy <br />conditions, that are designated by the Federal Aviation Administration <br />(FAA) and Stockton Metropolitan Airport to mitigate lighting impacts that <br />could be caused by the proposed project. <br />Current Status: Forward has not installed any new landfill lighting and has <br />not been requested by -the FAA or Stockton Metropolitan Airport to mitigate <br />any lighting impacts. Forward uses downward shielding on all night lighting. <br />Page 23 <br />
