The six
samples consisted of 3 for the double -sided geomembrane and 3 for the single sided
geomembrane. Based on 525,000 ft2 of HDPE received, this testing frequency corresponds to
one test per 87,500 ft2 which satisfies the requirement of one test per 100,000 ft2. Results of
the conformance testing indicated that the materials met the requirements of the project
specifications. A summary of the conformance test results is included in Table 6.
In addition, large-scale direct shear testing was conducted on the clay/geomembrane and
geomembrane/geotextile interfaces (the GCL interface shear testing is discussed in Section 5.1).
Results of the conformance testing indicated that the materials met the requirements of the
project specifications. Detailed test results including the geomembrane/geotextile interface
shear tests are included in Appendix I.
5.3.2 Geomembrane Installation
5.3.2.1 Geomembrane Deployment
Surface Preparation: Prior to installation of the HDPE, GLA's CQA Monitor observed that the
GCL or compacted clay liner had been installed as required by the project Specifications and
there was no change in the surface condition that required repair work.
Layout Drawing: The liner contractor, Comanco, submitted a proposed panel layout drawing
that showed the general panel configurations and dimensions. These drawings were reviewed
and approved by GLA's Engineer of Record prior to the deployment of the HDPE geomembrane.
The as -built Panel Layout drawings are included in Appendix I.
21 Geo -Logic
ASSOCIATES
